  2. PrintGL Description

  4. PrintGL is a shareware pen plotter emulator for IBM/DOS systems.

  6. PrintGL prints or  displays HP-GL (HP Graphics Language - HP  7475,  7440/17440
  7. subsets) or ADI (Autodesk  Device Interface  4.0 binary) plotfiles from CAD and
  8. graphing packages such as AutoCAD, Generic CADD, Microstation, Cadkey, MathCAD,
  9. SAS, Schema, etc.  It supports Epson  and IBM 9 pin  printers,  Epson, Fujitsu,
  10. IBM,  NEC,  and  Toshiba  24  pin  printers,  HP  Laserjet,  Deskjet, PaintJet,
  11. QuietJet, HP-GL/2 devices,  and HP-GL plotters, IBM  ExecJet, LaserPrinter, and
  12. Quietwriter 2/3, Canon LBP, BJ, and BJC printers, Kodak Color 4, PDP ProTracer,
  13. Tektronix ColorQuick, and PostScript printers, and CGA, EGA, VGA, EVGA, and HGC
  14. displays. And it generates PCX files and EPS files with preview bit map.

  16. Even  if your  graphics program supports  your printer, you will probably  find
  17. that  PrintGL  is  faster,  gives  better  print  quality,  and/or  gives  more
  18. formatting flexibility. PrintGL uses the best graphics modes available for each
  19. printer that it  supports  and uses transfer data compression  to improve print
  20. speed on many printers.  And it gives options such as  paper size, orientation,
  21. magnification, and pen width, color (with color mixing), and shading.
